Flashback Friday: Seattle

As you already know, one of my favorite things to do is eat. Many of you also know I love to travel. This two things are the perfect combination. One of the reasons I love to travel is because of all the new food adventures I get to have.

Last June I was able to go to some of my dearest friends' wedding in Seattle, WA. I went several days early to hangout out and oh boy does Seattle have amazing food! Also, while this post is mainly about food, it would be a crime to not showcase a little of Washington's beauty.

First stop: Bachelor Party. All of the guys went camping in the beautiful location.
Camp food: Steak, potatoes, corn on the cob, smores & beer (not pictured).

Next stop: Fonte Cafe
If you are ever in Seattle, you need to make sure you make a stop at Fonte Cafe near the Public Market for brunch. It can't be beat.

Aztec Mocha - Latte with chocolate, cayenne, cinnamon, and black Pepper

Yogurt & Granola with Fresh Fruit and Golden Raisins

Fonte Scramble in a Croissant - Peppered Bacon, Mushrooms, Asparagus, Roasted Red Peppers, Fresh Herbs & Fonte Cheese Blend

Charcuterie Hash - Assorted Cured Meats, Potatoes, Roasted Red Peppers & Onions, Topped with a Fried Egg

Next stop: Public Market

Le Famous Sign

Fresh Seafood

Fresh Vegetables

AMAZING cherries

Pasta Bar

Next Stop: Wedding
My friends had a beautiful mid-morning wedding. What better idea than to serve brunch?

Beverage Station
*Please note, Southern Sweet Tea

Waffle Bar

Waffle Condiments

Potatoes, Sausage, Bacon, Hashbrown Potatoes

Glance at my plate

The groom's family friends made these delicious pies and brought them all the way from Oregan

Blueberry Nectarine

Blackberry

Raspberry Mascarpone

Chocolate Blackout Cupcakes (nom!)

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Wedding Cake

Next Stop: Serious Pie
Renowned Chef Tom Douglas recently opened this restaurant in downtown Seattle. My long lost friend from high school and fellow foodie ended up taking me to the airport for my red eye back to Atlanta. Where else would we kill time but at a truly remarkable culinary establishment?

Local Draft

Lardo, Soft Egg & Arugula

Chantrelle Mushroom & Truffle Cheese

That. Good.

Lemon Pudding Cake, Thyme, Crispy Amaretti

Chocolate Budino, Sea Salt, Olive Oil

It would be worth a trip just to Seattle just to eat at Serious Pie. Seriously. (We may or may not have bought t-shirts to show our support/fat-ass-ary)

I've never been to an outdoor wedding where it rained before. But it wouldn't have been Seattle if it wasn't a little wet, right? I don't think it could have been a more beautiful wedding.

Check out their blog!

** And just in case anyone was wondering, the couple is still happily married almost one year later.

So to sum it all up: Seattle is amazing. The food is even better. I ate way more than what is pictured in this post, let's be honest. Now you need to go there and tell me what you eat!
