Happy Birthday [to me]!

This past week was my 20[something]th birthday. Because this is a great food holiday I did not limit celebrating to just one day. Here's some of the highlights of my birthday cuisine. [I doubt you'll be too surprised with what I ate #letsjustbehonest]

The week started off at home in Atlanta.

What else, but my mother's pot roast? Carrots, Potatoes, Sweet Tea. [We're from the South]

The next evening we ventured to Yeah! Burger in West Midtown Atlanta. I have heard it is amazing but could not actually attest to this until this past week. Obviously I needed to try everything that they had, so I gave it my best shot.

Fried Pickles w/ Ranch Dipping Sauce

The Yeah! Burger
A double stack of grass-fed beef with lettuce, pickles, grilled onions, YEAH! Sauce and American cheese

Half: Hand Cut French Fries/Half: Vidalia Onion Rings

My mom ordered the Chicken Ranch
Grilled, all-natural chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, Buttermilk Ranch dressing and blue cheese crumbles

My sister ordered a Blueberry & Creme Fraiche shake

Yeah! Burger = a success. Their atmosphere was really cool. They a wall of garage door type windows. Metal trays [no nasty plastic] and cool booths.

On my actual Birthday I went to Cantina in Pepper place for lunch. The section "Big Plates" naturally caught my eye.

Churrasco Steak with saffron rice, refried beans, cheese and pico de gallo

This was just ok. I will probably revert back to their soft taco's the next time I go back. The plate was not that big [I was tricked!] Thus, I had to eat some [a lot] of my friends Garlic Home Fries.

For dinner... I met a bunch of friends at Avo/Dram in Mountain Brook. I have been here many times before, but it is always good.

Started off with the Avo [cado, get it?] dip which was awesome! Unfortunately, I did not take a picture for some unknownst reason.

Then I had the

Dram Burger
Angus beef, Col. Bill Newsom’s country bacon, Kenny’s aged gouda with matchstick fries

Birthday Wrap-up: Good times. Good friends. But most importantly, Good food.

  1. Good heavens, those fried pickles make me want to drive to Atlanta just to eat at that restaurant!
